Where to eat well in Florence (no long talk)

In Florence, food is serious. Simple cooking, good ingredients, and dishes that don’t need explanations: Florentine steak, ribollita, pici with meat sauce, crostini with chicken liver.
And in the glass? Chianti Classico, Brunello, Super Tuscan. That’s it.
If you want to be safe, these are the places I always recommend to friends:

1. Buca Mario
📍 Piazza degli Ottaviani, 16
A true Florentine institution. Elegant but still authentic. Homemade pasta, pappardelle with wild boar, beef fillet with Chianti wine, and a very good wine list. A safe choice.
2. Trattoria I 13 Gobbi
📍 Via del Porcellana, 7
Warm, cozy, and always full (book ahead!). No-frills Tuscan food: ribollita, slow-cooked beef, wild boar. It feels like eating at a Florentine grandma’s house.

3. Trattoria Da Burde
📍 Via Pistoiese, 154
A bit outside the city center, but totally worth it. The Florentine steak here is serious business. Family-style place, big portions, friendly service.
4. Trattoria Sostanza (Il Troia)
📍 Via del Porcellana, 25
Tiny, authentic, and legendary. Come here for the famous butter chicken and artichokes. Few dishes, done perfectly. A place you either love—or love even more.

5. Cantina Antinori
📍 Piazza Antinori, 3
Tradition and elegance together. Tuscan dishes with a modern touch and, of course, an excellent wine list. Perfect if you want something traditional in a refined setting.
6. Osteria dei Leoni
📍 Via del Leone, 50
Small and cozy, loved by locals. Great pasta dishes, relaxed and honest atmosphere. A quiet place that wins you over.
